Given the push from the religious Right in many states (and Federally, as of today) to legalize open discrimination using actions up to, and including killing gays with "A bullet to the head", the time has clearly come to establish the LGBT community in the US as a protected class.
Each bill written and act committed seems to be more brazen than the last.
PLEASE, stop this movement against us by establishing the protections we so desperately need. We don't want special treatment, but we DO want true equality. Separate is NOT equal.
