Make The Line Item Veto Constitutional

Created by J.S. on March 30, 2013

In the past, Senate and/or Congress have implemented harmful amendments or acts into bills that needed to be passed. The latest example is the H.R. 933. This bill needed to be passed in order to prevent government shutdown. However, the Senate used the opportunity to implement a provision that would benefit Monsanto (the company behind the harmful GMO seeds). Due to the 1998 Supreme Court ruling, President Obama can not use line item veto and has to either veto the entire bill (which needed to be passed) or not veto it. The ones that are signing this petition request for the 1998 Supreme Court ruling to be overturned and for the item line veto to be made constitutional, giving President Obama the ability to veto any provision that is deemed harmful to the people of the USA.
