If buying of votes (lobbying) was made illegal, our voted-in representatives would have a lot more incentive to do the right thing and vote how their constituents want. As the system is right now, whatever company or person that has the most influence (money) gets their agenda passed. In the majority of cases, it's not in the best interest of most Americans.
