Make Mandatory Minimal Staffing For Nursing Homes

Created by D.G. on March 12, 2015

I have worked nursing homes for years and every year we get less and less staff and more and more residents that require extensive care. Can't the government force these companies, who by the way are making tons of money off the people and the government, to have a minimal standard of the number of caregivers for our elderly?? How is one nurse supposed to give good care to 30, 40, 50 people?? How is 1-2 CNA's able to help these residents with their ADLs let alone actually have conversations with them if they have 20-30 people to care for? Where does it stop?? They leave it up to the nursing home to set the standard, but as they are the ones who are profitting from less staff, of course they are going to choose to scrape by with the bare minimum. C'mon government think about your elderly!
