Mandatory overtime is a form of forced labor, whether it is paid of not. I move to make mandatory overtime in any given type of job illegal and make any hours that a company may need worked over 40 100% voluntary for employees. I should be able to choose whether or not to work over 40 hours in a work week. Not be forced to or have it count against me or have to use up vacation just because the company I may work for needs more work done. If a company needs more work done, then they should hire more workers. Don't take on more work than what your labor force can handle. Your employees have lives too outside of work and to some of them, that part of there life is more important that what the company they work for needs/wants.
