make mandatory the use of metal detectors/bag scanners at entrances of all public schools, Universities, and libraries.

Due to the tragic events in recent years, we need to make sure our children are protected and safe while getting an education. It isn't always outsiders that come into schools and harm/kill students, sometimes it is the students who commit these acts of violence. Therefore we need to be sure no weapons make it into our schools. To help insure the safest possible enviroment for our children, we need metal detectors/bag scanners, and higher security. We need our educators to be trained in a school defense program more than just locking down. We need a zero tolerance policy on violence and bullying in our schools, no more slaps on the hand. Students should feel safe at all times while at school. It's time to make that happen.
