Make Mardi Gras a national holiday in honor of of our most joyous, most creative and most persevering states: Louisiana.

Louisiana has contributed more good food, music, and sheer joy of life in the United States than any other state. This in the face of poverty, racism, and the worst that Mother Nature can produce. They deserve their day of celebration, Mardi Gras, to become a national day of victory for surviving and keeping alive the spirit of love and humanity despite the worst that life can throw at all of us.
