Everyone in the US deserves a day off to go to the Mardi Gras or celebrate in their own private, reserved way, or go skiing as an anti-celebration as is Mardi Gras tradition.
When you see the Mardi Gras, somebody will tell you what's carnival for.
And it should be for everyone, not just the lucky few who live in or near New Orleans.
