Make marijuana legal to consume, possess or grow in private, but not to sell, trade, or consume in public.

Created by S.V. on September 24, 2011

Taking profits out of marijuana will stop corruption and crime involved in the drug trade over this one very common substance. If people could grow it, they would not need to spend money on it, so that money could be better spent on home utility bills or shopping, which would boost the economy. Many people who use this herb currently spend at least $60 to $600 each month on purchasing it. This money is equivalant to a credit card payment. If it stays illegal to sell, but if they can grow it at home, there is no need to buy it from a street gang or a drug cartel. This would save money from the current system of arresting people for possesion, etc. and free up the police and jails for more serious crimes. As long as it is kept private in the home, it's nobody's business.
