Make marriage a term used only by religion, refer to all unions between different or same sex partners Civil Union.

Since the main argument against same sex marriage has been one based off the religious definition of marriage, the government should cease showing favoritism to religion and should stop using the term in any federal manner. All merging of two individuals into one legal "couple" should be referred to as a Civil union or Domestic partnership. The religious term "Marriage" should have no place in our governmental structure.
