In light of Marvel Studios bringing back an American comic book hero to an American studio, it is only right that an American be cast to take on this role. Danny Trejo is an American actor that encapsulates the essence of redemption. He spent his youth in prison, but has overcome his past to become an iconic figure in American films. Likewise, Peter Parker had a troubled youth in which his inaction led to the death of his Uncle Ben. Realizing that great power required great responsibility, Peter Parker redeemed himself in society by becoming Spiderman. This is prime opportunity for Hollywood to showcase its ever increasing desire and ability to cast minorities geriatrics in roles often only reserved for white, young males.
