Devote some of the funds currently expended on tracking, arresting and deporting peaceful, law-abiding, job-holding, bill- and tax-paying “illegal immigrants” to tracking down, prosecuting, fining and delicensing of medical providers and mandating the closure of businesses who are fraudulently billing Medicare and Medicaid.
• The combination of the revenue from fines and the reduction in payment of fraudulent charges would make Medicare and Medicaid much more secure.
• Such an effort would further reduce healthcare costs by reducing the number of hospitalizations of people "treated" by the fraudulent healthcare providers.
• By removing fraudulent physicians from practice, it would indirectly restore some of the protection of patients taken away by so-called "tort reform.”
