Make Medicare assist those who have both Medicare and private insurance and improve the billing system.

Created by B.O. on April 09, 2012

It is very difficult for people to have to bill Medicare on the behalf of providers who are not participating in Medicare system but are providers thru their private insurance. Many people become eligable for Medicare and still have coverage thru their spouse for private insurance We the people cannot steamline their billing to Medicare as providers can. For example, a woman goes in to see her OBGYN for an annual physical as she always has but the OBGYN does not participate in Medicare. The patient then has to bill Medicare themselves and does not have any recorse when Medicare states they have not recieved the claim. Then the patient has to resend the claim to Medicare. Meanwhile the provider is expecting payment and the time to file said claim to their private insurance is running out.
