Speaking as a not typical bipolar person, at 17 I was diagnosed and by 20 I was disabled as adviced by all of my doctors. I used and tried medicine after medicine with no help. I've been treated in and out patient. In patient treatment is a prison for crazy people as you're repeatedly called. We need more research and better basic human rights for the 6 million Americans that suffer mental illnesses. We need viable treatment plans that actually work. We are a group of people that most people like to ignore. Our death rate is 10-15% of those diagnosed. Please get the medical community more involved and actual help out there for people who suffer a disease that people believe is nothing more than bad behavior.
