We as Americans can work to eliminate school shootings. Here's how:
1) Increase funding for mental health care on college campuses by installing a $20 flat tax, which would result in more than $3 billion in revenues;
2) Fine negligent firearm owners from whom school shooters get their firearms, further increasing revenues;
3) Install an extra $20 firearm tax for each purchase of a firearm.
4) Use all of these revenues to create a Mental Healthcare Corps similar to Teach For America, where young Americans serve at schools as counselors;
5) Celebrate mental health and emotional intelligence as an official holiday on October 10, 2015. The Whitehouse can encourage companies like Facebook, Google, Netflix, Amazon, and Microsoft to pitch in by posting inspiring Public Service Announcements.
