The United States is one of three countries in the world that has not converted to the Metric System. We already use it in our everyday lives, in such things as medicine and communications. The only reason it is used, however, is because the products are the same as the ones used in foreign countries. We are not a bilingual country. If we do not convert, all future generations are hindered because they have to learn two systems of measurements. However, if we switch, and make the Metric System mandatory, we will be on page with the rest of the world, and have an easy-to-learn system of measurements for the next generation to learn.
