Right now, parents have the right to decide whether or not their children get vaccinated. I think the government should make it mandatory for all children under the age of 18 to get vaccinated as advised by doctors.
A recent study done by Kaiser Permanente in Colorado revealed that the number of children who were late to get vaccinated rose from 42 to 54 percent. This increase puts those kids as well as the kids around them at risk as they are not protected with the necessary vaccines. With the increase in flu outbreaks, there is also increased risk if under-vaccination becomes a common pattern.
Parents, fearing the risks of early vaccination, are putting their kids in even greater danger. I ask that the White House put a stop to this and ensure the health of all minors.
