The day after the Super Bowl should be an officially sanctioned national holiday. In 2013, an average of 108.41 million Americans came together at their neighbor's homes and local community centers to partake in this very special event. The Super Bowl is probably the most American day of the year besides Independence Day. It has fighter jet flyovers, football, and Beyoncé. No other event can even come close to that level of credibility. It is understandable that some people (particularly managers in the private sector) may have objections to the creation of yet another paid holiday for their employees. A simple remedy to this potential problem would be to move Washington's Birthday from the third Monday of February to the Monday after the Super Bowl. Thank you for your consideration
