The Monday after Super Bowl Sunday should be made a national holiday:
1. In the United States, football is the most-watched sport and the Super Bowl is the most-watched televised event. That Sunday brings more friends and family together than Thanksgiving.
2. Super Bowl Sunday is already regarded as a de facto national holiday. Americans should be allowed to continue the celebration into a non-weekend day. It would save half the country from showing up to work hungover on Monday. And the residents of the city of the winning team can freely attend their city's parade/celebration.
3. Football is a uniquely American sport. Football was born here, thrives here, and is the best here. God Bless the NFL and God Bless America!
