A call to the federal government to change the maximum age of consent to 16 years old so that innocent young men stop gong to prison for consensual sexual contact. Girls across this country are allowed to walk into a planned parenthood clinic as young as age 11, to terminate a pregnancy; yet, if a boy happens to be older than 18 years old, he might be thrown in jail for simply engaging in the act of sex. The message we are sending to young men and women is that the act of sex is much more emotionally damaging than an abortion. There are young men all around this country who are in prison or who are labeled as sex offenders for the rest of their lives, for simply engaging in consensual sex with a girl as old as age 17. This has got to stop. Sex is natural.
