It is imperative to a democracy that everyone have the chance to vote and express their views on the representatives of government. How then, do we ask the people of the United States to fit such a central action of civic duty into their work day, creating increased wait times before and after work hour and disincentivizing certain constituent demographics from the democratic process. This petition is to ask the President of the United States, and if need be Congress, to declare the days of national elections as a holiday so that everyone in the United States has a chance to go to the polls and express their vote upon the democratic process without having to worry about upsetting their employer by being late or absent from the workplace.
