Make New Student Loan Repayment Plans Available to More By Ceasing Private Lender Subsidies And Apply Savings to Deficit

Created by A.W. on January 15, 2013

I respectfully petition the President of The United States and Department of Education to make new loan programs such as the Pay As You Earn Program available to a wider range of borrowers, and to remove barriers to the repayment programs that are currently in place.

This petition asks that specifically:

* Parent Plus, Direct Plus, and FFEL Programs be accepted by all payment plans

*Time limits and restrictions to only new borrowers for Pay As You Earn Program are removed to include borrowers within the last decade

*That those who are about to default on their student loans be automatically placed on the Income Based Repayment Program

*That these measures are paid for by removing private lender subsidies as happened with the IBR, and that savings are applied to the national deficit.
