make the newly proposed $1 coin (HR 2977) the size of the old Morgan silver dollar in circulation 1901-O.

Created by D.E. on November 07, 2011

Dear Chairman Spencer Bachus,

H.R. 2977 which is before you, contains a provision for a new $! coin. ALL the PREVIOUS $1 coins since 1978-79 have FAILED OWING TO THE FACT THEY ARE basically THE SIZE OF A QUARTER; NO GOOD!!!!!!!!
I had a co-worker lose 75 cents when she accidentally FELT for a quarter in her pocket or coin purse, pulled up instead the Susan B. Anthony, and dropped ii in the bus-fare hopper; only THEN--TOO LATE--DISCOVERED HER LOSS, After that, she refused all such $1 coins, I too in using the coin myself, had to announce to the cashier that it was $1 to make sure I got credited properly. And, a difference in color makes no difference. TO BE SUCCESSFUL, ANY NEW $1 coin MUST BE THE SIZE, HEFT, THICKNESS, AND EDGE-RIDGING of the OLD SILVER DOLLAR (in circulation STILL).
