make no more changes to Social Security or Medicare to avoid the fiscal cliff or curve.

Created by A.L. on December 18, 2012

Since U.S. citizens have paid for Social Security and Congress borrowed all of the money we paid in for it, they need to pay the money back to us just the same as they need to pay any other debt they owe. They have known since the baby boom generation was born that there would be a larger outlay for Social Security when baby boomers retired. They have had plenty of time to prepare for it. We should not be punished because they refused to plan ahead for us. This is not an entitlement to us. It is paying back a loan we made to congress. Medicare is the same thing. We paid for it so that we would have health care when we retired. It is a debt that congress owes retirees.
