Make North Korean human rights abuses a top foreign policy priority

Created by Z.H. on April 07, 2014

A UN Commission of Inquiry appointed by the UN Human Rights Council in March 2013 recently issued a report condemning the DPRK (North Korea) for human rights abuses and crimes against humanity. The situation in North Korea was compared the atrocities of the Holocaust and the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge.

In a statement given to the UN Council on Human Rights on March 17th: "The gravity, scale, duration and nature of the unspeakable atrocities committed in the country reveal a totalitarian State that does not have any parallel in the contemporary world."

I strongly urge the Obama administration to be an international leader on this issue by making this a top foreign policy priority.
