In the past couple of years a new environmental issue has emerged in the United States, as well as around the world. Bee populations have been fallen 30% each winter in the U.S since 2007, which has greatly affected the agriculture industry. One third of bee populations have just left their hives, never to return. This phenomenon is called Colony Collapse Disorder. This has the potential to cause major problems, as out of 90% of the world’s food, bees are responsible for pollinating 71 of the 100 crops. With that being said, the nations community and its leadership need to do everything possible to stop this crisis from continuing because without bees, people will be without food.
