Jimmy Carter was one of the most important presidents and humans of modern times. During his presidency he accomplished the camp david accords, signed the Panama Canal treaties, and accomplished a peace deal between Egypt and Israel. After his presidency, his great works continued.In 2002, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his humanitarian works. Even today, at the old age of 88, his passion for public service continues as he is a frequent volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. He has founded a charitable organization known as the Carter Center that "advances human rights and alleviates suffering." Jimmy Carter is a great American leader that should be honored with a national holiday.
