This petition is being submitted to recognize the artistic and cultural achievements of the California based heavy metal band Slayer. October 7th coincides with the release date of their most well known album "Reign in Blood".
This band represents a large and forgotten portion of our American population.
Recognizing this holiday would be more logical than celebrating Christmas. Unlike the birth of Jesus Christ, the release of this album is something that actually occurred in reality.
