We see every day more and more law enforcement officers the victims of violent crimes simply because of the uniforms they wear. They are here to protect our communities and yet are often targeted by criminal elements only because of their job as a law enforcement officer. It's time we stand up as a country and denounce these acts of violence against those who are sworn to protect us by increasing the penalties for committing harm against (or murdering) law enforcement officers.
