A friend of mine and I were discussing the recent tornado crisis in Oklahoma, and came up with this solution: Make each individual city in Oklahoma an underground one! There would be roads and houses and cars, of course, but all in a giant pit! A metal roof would slide over the city in case of a tornado. During this time, the citizens would experience a power outage to direct the power to the roof. Highways would still remain above ground, but with small cellars along the sides in case people were stuck out during a tornado. Since the cities would still be open-topped in the times when tornadoes strike, you could still grow crops and raise cattle. We can do it, guys. We can make Oklahoma the Underground State.
