Higher level education, nowadays, is not a leg up against others in this even more competitive job market of today, but a tacit requirement. As such, more and more people are applying and matriculating into universities and colleges in the hope of a better life. After all, that is the American dream -- anyone from any background can succeed in this great nation. However, one cannot possibly succeed if one is starving; one cannot pay attention in class if one's stomach growls to the point of embarrassment. Since universities are now accepting more and more students below the poverty line, I move that we, the taxpayers, help them eat at least one meal free of charge, so that they can do their work, succeed, and fulfill the American dream without going days without food.
