This is a petition to rid the Internet of the data trolls like spokeo.com that profit off of our lives. These sites gather all data related to people and sell it to interested parties.
To make matters worse in order to remove your information many sites require you to sign up and prove your identity which would allow them to verify the details on their sister sites.
Unless the act of collecting and/or selling this information is illegal, these sites are welcoming Americans to identity theft.
What's the point of buying a shredder when an Internet search can yield your name, phone number, and address.
