Make onsite security staff part of the public educational system instead of arming teachers.

The local mall has security personnel, the nearby office building has its own security, the department store I worked at has security personnel roaming at all hours just in case someone tried to rob a cash register at gunpoint, but our schools have people hiding in closets and under desks until the police arrive. Why? Even armed with nothing but a baton or a taser, that can save lives before the police show up during a serious incident.
