The ripped, stretched nightshirts, the tattered, ragged Lilo and Stitch flannels, and the oversized onesies that somehow made their way into your stockings--these are pajamas. These articles of clothing, perpetually moving from bed to basket to bottom drawer, accrue over their almost infinite lives a slew of memories magnified by the sunless skies they know best. Pajamas are not beautiful apart from their purpose--comfort--for who would call their nauseating tie-died and slash-sleeved pajama shirt beautiful? Yet, in that way, pajamas are closer to people than we realize. Join me in making this November 1st, 2014, the first Pajama day of our nation, as we come together to prove to ourselves that human beings, like pajamas, should not be judged by our faces, but by our intent. Wear pajamas.
