Credit card companies, banks and other financial institutions want customers to switch to paperless statements. They say paperless statements protect the environment by reducing trash and protect consumers by reducing the chance a mail theif will steal them to commit identity theft.
However, these same companies mail out multiple credit and product offers every month even if a customer is signed up for paperless service. These are as bad for the environment and consumer safetly as account statements.
PLEASE make the paperless option better for consumers. When a customer selects the paperless option, it should mean that NO paper is sent to the consumer at all.
