Make Patriot's Day, September 11th a Federal/National holiday

Created by G.C. on February 06, 2013

I respectfully request that the Obama Administration give due honor and respect to September 11th by making Patriot's Day a recognized national holiday.

We as a nation need to remember and honor the lives that were lost, both the victims of that terrible act of terrorism and the heroes that gave their lives in an attempt to rescue other victims or to stop further aggression on the part of the terrorists.

Days such as President's Day, MLK Jr. Day and Columbus Day are set aside to remember history. We set aside days like Veteran's Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day to remember sacrifices made on behalf of our nation. 9/11 deserves this distinction as well.

We as a nation need to take time out to solemnly remember the lives of those lost, and give honor to their sacrifice.
