Make pay cuts of at least 1/2 to all the members of The House of Representatives starting in the fiscal year of 2013.

Created by C.M. on November 16, 2012

We The People acknowledge that the United States is almost 16 trillion dollars in debt. We need to make cuts and the cuts that need to be made need to start at the top.
Since January 1, 2009, the compensation for most Representatives and Senators has been $174,000. Compensation for the Speaker of the House is $223,500, while the President pro tempore of the Senate and the majority and minority leaders in the House and Senate receive a salary of $193,400. The House of Representatives was only scheduled to be in session 109 weekdays this year, and will be in recess 151 weekdays - meaning recess days will outstrip working days by nearly a 3 to 2 margin. They are only working PART TIME but getting paid for full time! It's time the House of Representatives gets paid for their PART TIME work.
