We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Make Police Brutality Illegal

Created by K.H. on July 07, 2016

In 2016, before July 7th, over 500 people died from police brutality. Over 100 of these people were unarmed black men. Police Brutality affects everyone, mostly in urban and southern areas such as New York, Minnesota, Florida, Louisiana, and more. These murders and homicides must stop for good. Police officers are meant to save and protect the innocent from criminals, however, the officers create this image of black people and minorities being criminals. Many other races, for example Latinos, are also prosecuted by our men in blue. In 2015, at least 106 unarmed Latino men were killed by police officers. Not only are men being murdered in cold blood, but also women. Sandra Bland died in a cell in Texas from "suicide". As a country, we need to stop this now.
