Dogs should never be shot by a Police officer.
An officer should easily have the ability to handle even the most vicious dogs without having to use a firearm in defence. No dog would ever cause serious injury to a Police officer and the impact killing the dog (or hitting a child by accident!) is devastating and causes huge backfire against The Police Force as a whole.
Impose a law against Police officers using their firearm in reaction to a dog under any circumstances.
