Make policy and create laws to limit the ownership of large ammo clips, assault rifles and to screen all buyers of guns

In light of the tragic murdering of 20 babies in Newtown, CT, we propose to outlaw all future sales of assault guns and of ammo clips holding more than 10 bullets. All future gun sales will have perspective buyers screened prior to the sale and first time buyers will be required to take a course on gun safety / responsibility. Gun buyers will only be allowed to purchase 2 guns per month since many of the guns used for murder in our cities are from people who buy dozens of guns at private gun sales and then resell them illegally. We understand the inconvenience of these laws to responsible gun owners but believe that rational steps must be taken to prevent the tragic loss of life caused by those who have no reason to have these weapons.
