Well the government is going to circulate new $100 bills to prevent counterfeiting but why not use polymer ones?
Reasons:
1- Security http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymer_banknote#Security_features
2- They dont get messed up if you wash them/go to the pool.
3- They last longer (and look better longer also).
4- They are the modern things
5- Australia did it.
6- They can have clear plastic.
