The first word that a child learns about his/her government is democracy and how lucky they are to live in one. But that is, to be straight-forward about it, not the case. Instead we must choose between two corrupt people to represent our state. They feed on power and don't care about what the common people want. They are not effected by the president as the common people are. So we choose which ever one represents our political party and allow them to make the decision, when the only person who should be able to decide who our president is, is us.
