make the position of a congressional representative voluntary.

Created by T.D. on January 07, 2013

While there might mainly be only partisan agreement in these times, there is something we can all agree on: The state of cooperation between members of Congress is abominable. The only reason some members decided to be a Congressional Representative is for the salary. The only payment any Congressional Representative should receive is for travel expenses (traveling to DC) and for living expenses (having an apartment, etc. in DC). In addition this action should be extended to the President's payment. If one truly wants to represent one's country and decisions in the country's favor, a voluntary role would be without issue.
