Pigs have been moving from barns to houses over the last few years. Many people have had the desire to acquire a pig for multiple reasons, as a therapy pet, if they are allergic to other pet breeds and desire the companionship of such animal, or they wish to give pigs love, as many find it very controversial the way they're treated in factory farms.
Many pig owners, who have been positively affected by their pet pigs, have been forced to give up their pigs by laws and regulations regarding them. They are smarter than dogs and make wonderful pets, and if people are given proper education about them, and they are made legal countrywide, the abandonment rate would be notably shorter.
Pigs should not be neglected as pets any more than cats and dogs.
