Make The Practice Of "Civil Forfeiture" Illegal For All U.S. Citizens and Legal Residents

Created by R.P. on July 17, 2016

Being pulled over by the police can be a harrowing experience all by itself, however, it becomes undeniably more distressing when the police wrongly assume you’re a criminal and seize your cash because they think it could be related to drug money. This does happen under the practice of “Civil Forfeiture” by Law Enforcement Personnel, without any due process of law.

Civil forfeiture in the United States, sometimes called "Civil Judicial Forfeiture" or occasionally "Civil Seizure", is a controversial legal process allows law enforcement officers to take assets from persons suspected of involvement with crime or illegal activity without charging the owners with any crime or wrongdoing.

This completely violates the presumption of innocence until proven guilty and should be illegal.
