Get rid of summer break for children and high school students.
**This reform would directly address known US education deficiencies by adding time and continuity to the education process.
**Family's don't need their children to "help with the harvest" as was true in the old days.
**Such a reform may actually improve "bang for buck" in regards to tax dollars, because you wouldn't be paying teachers to essentially sit idle for 3 months.
**Most other countries don't have such long summer breaks.
**Summer break isn't long enough to accrue significant college savings with a short term job
**Employers don't enjoy training people for extremely short term positions anyway.
**Kids stay busy and are more likely to keep out of trouble
