Whereas, there are many chronic pain patients within the United States who are unable to afford doctors' visits or pain management clinics;
Whereas; effective pain medication for many medical conditions causing chronic pain is only available by prescription from the aforementioned unaffordable sources;
Whereas; preparations containing hydrocodone have been proven safe and effective in treating chronic pain, but is currently only available by prescription;
We, the undersigned, demand that the Food and Drug Administration remove preparations containing hydrocodone, such as Vicodin and Vicoprofen, from the Schedule III drugs list and make them available over the counter.
