make the presidential alert system voluntary.

Citizens of the United States should not be forced by their government to receive messages on devices they purchase and pay for. We respectfully request that the administration change the Presidential alert system deploying now on cellular phones to be one where the citizens can choose to opt-in to receive the messages instead of one where the government decides the the citizens must receive messages. While we acknowledge that the intent of the system is benevolent, the methodology runs counter to how things should be done in a free country and represents the government seizing control of the property of its citizens. Respectfully, we request that the government honor our right to decide what content will appear on our property.
