We want voting day to be declared a national holiday. We believe that citizens are being deprived of their right to vote because they are unable to leave their workplace to take the time to vote. Full participation in the voting process is essential to democratic elections. This petition is only for presidential elections but we hope that it will inspire lower state governments to follow and make voting for local elections more accessible for their citizens.
