Make primary and general election day a national holiday and offer tax breaks for voting.

The United States election turn out is incredibly low. In 2012 only 59% of Americans voted in the general election. Primary and Caucus elections have even lower voter turnout. A major reason for this is people being unable to leave work and vote. When they do get out of work they have only a few hours until polls close. Long lines, long days, and other issues can dissuade citizens from voting. By giving the day off more people will be able to vote. By offering small tax breaks to those that can prove they voted it will provide more incentives for people to vote. With both of these things we can begin to get more people to vote.
